From Hastings: From the sea front take the A259 to
Rye. At Ore Village, just after the pedestrian crossing, turn right onto
Fairlight Road. Continue on this road out of Ore towards Fairlight. You will
pass Fairlight church on the right after 2 miles. Continue down the hill
(stop to take in the view over Rye Bay if you wish). The road continues to
wind down the hill, then straightens out. White Cottage is about halfway
down on the right-hand side.
From Rye: Take the A259 to Hastings. After 2
miles you will reach three bridges. Take a left turn on the corner opposite
the garage, sign-posted Winchelsea Beach. Continue through Winchelsea Beach
village and follow the road through Pett Level. Continue up the hill towards
Fairlight. Continue on this road, ignoring the left turn to Fairlight
Village. Continue a quarter of a mile up the hill - White Cottage is on your
left.
From Dover: Follow signs for A20 (London). A20
leads on to the M20. Leave the M20 at junction 10 and follow signs for A2070
(Brenzett). Continue on A2070 until Brenzett roundabout. Continue straight
on, joining the A259 (Rye). Be careful to watch your speed along this
country road as there are several twists and turns along the way. You will
eventually be on a long straight stretch of road where you will see Rye Town
in the distance. As you enter Rye, turn left at the mini roundabout,
signposted A259 (Winchelsea/Hastings). Now follow directions from Rye as
above under 'From Rye'. |
